Get ready to make a difference – Mandir cleaning

Vaishno Devi mandir is located at 3259 Regional Road 25 (formerly Bronte road), Oakville, Ontario, L6M4J3.

History of Temple: The purchase of the property was finalized on December 15th 1987. The executive committee then proceeded to plan for the designing and subsequent procurement of the work permit. Application for the permit was made on October 19th 1990, and the formal work permit was issued on April 9, 1991. On may 12, 1991 we had the Bhumi Puja on the grounds of the temple which was also the first official function. On May 27, 1991 work on the site commenced. Many changes have been made. The building was completed as per projections and was officially opened by her Worship the Mayor of Oakville, Mrs. Anne Mulvale on November 3, 1991

The opening ceremony of this temple was held on November 3, 1991. Ex President Dr. S.C. Vohra along with the members of the ex Executive Committee, extend his appreciation and thanks to the community; on this auspicious day of opening of “Vaishnu-Devi Temple”, an everlasting sign of heritage, in the town of Oakville.

Vaishno Devi Mandir is one of the holy Hindu temples dedicated to Shakti, located in the hills of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Maa Shakti is the divine force, manifesting to destroy demonic forces and restore balance. She is the mother of goddess , the source of all energy or power .Every Hindu God symbol has power known as Shakti. Lakshmi is the energy of Lord Vishnu. Parvati is the energy of Lord Shiva. Parvati (Shakti ) is also called Devi , Sati, Durga , Kali etc.It is not only a belief but also a strong experience of one and all that the Divine Mother sends a call to her children. And once a person receives it, wherever he is, is bound to visit the Mother to receive Her unbounded love and blessings. It is also a matter of experience by almost all those who visit the Holy Shrine that upon the Call of Mata, a person needs to just take one step and leave the rest to Her and his journey gets completed with Her divine blessings. It is true that not everyone can go for Darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi in Jammu India even he has strong desire to go there. we are blessed that we have Vaishno Devi Mandir close to our heart and in our beautiful neighborhood.

Be proud of the motherland – Happy Independence Day

Independence Day, observed annually on 15, August, is a National Holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the British Empire on 15 August 1947. India attained independence following an Independence Movement noted for largely nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience led by the Indian National Congress (INC).[1] Independence coincided with the partition of India, in which the British Indian Empire was divided along religious lines into the Dominions of India and Pakistan; the partition was accompanied by violent riots and mass casualties, and the displacement of nearly 15 million people due to sectarian violence.

On 15 August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, who had become the first Prime Minister of India that day, raised the Indian national flag above the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. On each subsequent Independence Day, the Prime Minister has raised the flag and given a speech.[2]

The holiday is observed throughout India with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events. Indians celebrate the day by displaying the national flag on their attire, accessories, homes and vehicles; by listening to patriotic songs, watching patriotic movies; and bonding with family and friends. Books and films feature the independence and partition in their narrative. Separatist and militant organisations have often carried out terrorist attacks on and around 15 August, and others have declared strikes and used black flags to boycott the celebration.

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents.
